      I will take a look. We are the ones installing the cabling and the low voltage electronics. Usually the architect has provided locations for things such as fire alarms, camera’s, door contacts etc. Its as simple as finding the shape and recording it.  If a software could easily find and highlight all the shapes then that would save a ton of time as you are often searching through 30 pages of electrical drawings to find a handful of instances that can be easily missed.

        Ideally you would upload a legend from the first page of the drawings and highlight the items, or specifically ask what you would like it to look for (Ex. Data Outlet). This would save many hours in regard to estimating. Often these are interns doing takeoffs and it adds no value to their training/education as it is simply where’s waldo.
