Enjoy the 4090!! That sounds great. I just bought a used 3090 on ebay. It arrives next week. Have spent 2023 learning Python and taking fast.ai and other AI courses. Looking forward to running and fine-tuning larger models locally. Planning to buy a 2nd used 3090 later this year.
@brian How can multiplex subscribers obtain access your exciting garage lab models? Better yet, how can we contribute?Good point about guardrails on ChatGPT. It seems only a matter of time before a court requires further guardrails to filter the output for any perceived copyright infringement. Like for example if you try to invoke someone’s name (e.g. write this in the voice of Stephen King) the court mandated guardrail filter will not allow the prompt to process. I can envision layer upon layer of filters being mandated by various entities. How can OpenAI and the other big players avoid this? Open Source models have their own challenges in that the foundational models will require material to gain the wisdom we want. Some of that material is already being purged due to Books3 and other data sets. Will be interesting to see how all this gets navigated.
@pnutmaster I decided to start at the beginning with the free Harvard CS50P course and the 3rd Edition Python Crash Course book. I alternate between the two to reinforce the learning and retention. Looking forward to spending more time on langchain soon.
Hi, I’m Sean. Just joined the site after hearing Brian on the infinite loops podcast. Looking forward to learning and exploring. Been a tech product manager for 20+ years and currently looking to shift gears and sink my teeth into something new and impactful for the next decade. Most recently I’ve been learning Python programming and exploring AI and machine learning.
