Wow, thanks for the thoughtful response. All great insights. I think your response gets at a lot of the reason why I’m so excited about this project. I too can tend to get “tangled” in my own thoughts and having a well-trained AI to help me synthesize or provide course correction based on what it knows about me is quite appealing.
I asked Claude if there were any gaps in the 1,000 questions as it pertains to accurately re-constructing someone’s thoughts after having answered all of the questions. It said that these questions may be a good supplement to the existing set of questions:
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Here are some suggestions for additional reflection questions that could help address some of the gaps mentioned and expand the diversity of human experiences captured:</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>On the body:</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- What is your relationship with your physical body? How has this evolved?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- How do you experience and express sexuality and sensuality?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>On social forces:</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- How have society’s expectations of you shaped your path positively and negatively? </span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- What social systems or policies most impacted your lived experience? How?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>On cognitive diversity:</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- How does your neurotype shape your worldview and gifts? What strengths and challenges does it bring? </span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- How could greater accessibility help you thrive and contribute?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>On relationships:</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- Beyond family and friends, what wider community connections nourish you?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- Who do you feel responsible to support? Who supports you?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>On positive emotions:</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- What makes you laugh deeply? When do you feel most playful?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- How do you awaken childlike joy, silliness, and curiosity in your life?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>On envisioning forward: </span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- If you glimpsed your future self, what wisdom would you hope to gain from who you become? </span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- How do your boldest dreams envision a better world for all?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>On balance:</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- What privileges or advantages have shaped your life journey? How do you pay it forward?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>- How has good fortune opened doors for you that others may not have due to systemic barriers?</span>
<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Let me know if any of those resonate or if you have additional suggestions!</span>
Thanks for the response. That makes sense to me. I want to have robust answers to each question and I feel like I need to reflect on the question for a while before I jump into a response. I wonder if there’s a balance though too, where if I have too much time to think about how I’m going to respond, my responses could skew it in a way to make me sound a little bit better, knowing that this recording could someday be accessed by descendants. I want to be as honest as I can but those types of desires could creep in subconsciously and I want to avoid that for the sake of creating the most accurate model of myself as I could.
That makes sense. Would probably increase the likelihood that the AI model trained on you would be more human-like, able to “contain multitudes” if there were contradictory answers. I wonder if there would be value in time stamping the recordings or having that present in any way to distinguish certain lines of thought at a certain age.
Brian – thank you for all of your work on this project. It is going to be a beautiful gift to the world.
Couple of questions: do you have any best practices before undertaking this? Mental state, in the morning, a consistent time and place for when you record, etc.
Also, we are on the verge of having our 2nd child. I will undoubtedly acquire new pieces of knowledge daily as we enter this next phase of life. Is there an optimal point in time to record your answers to these questions? Is there a risk of contradicting oneself if you have a perspective that changes over time?
July 20, 2023 at 7:44 am in reply to: Amazing Midjourney prompt templates (Part 1 – Portraits) #17737I have been playing around with the Photorealistic plugin in ChatGPT and Midjourney + CapCut. I don’t have any artistic capability but was able to produce the following short video:
I’m a big Tool fan and the zoom out feature on Midjourney is incredible so I took that starting point and ran with it. Here is the prompt I used:
Imagine a scene that is a fusion of the intricate surrealism found in Tool’s album covers and the vibrant, futuristic aesthetic of synthwave. The content should be a complex, interconnected network of organic and geometric shapes, reminiscent of Alex Grey’s work, but with a neon-infused color palette. The medium should be digital art, with a style that blends the hyper-detailed, visionary art of Tool’s album covers with the glowing gradients and retro-futurism of synthwave. The lighting should be dramatic and contrasted, with the bright neon colors of the synthwave elements casting long, intricate shadows. The colors should be a mix of the dark, rich hues found in Tool’s artwork and the bright, saturated colors typical of synthwave. The composition should be shot as if through a wide-angle lens, capturing the vastness and complexity of the scene. The image should be rendered in ultra-high resolution, with every minute detail of the intricate design clearly visible. –ar 16:9 –v 5.1 –style raw –q 2 –s 750
Hey there all.
My name is John and I’m here because I can’t shake this feeling that AI is going to dramatically reshape the way we live our lives and how we work.
I work in the marketing department for a large financial services firm. I’m actively building the case to my management that we should be adopting various AI technologies in our workflow to reap the benefits of leveraging AI technology. Plus, when we look out five years, I expect all of our competitors will have adopted the technology to a certain extent so it makes sense to start fleshing out a strategy on how to adapt to a world where ChatGPT exists.
Essentially, I am trying to create a role for myself that doesn’t yet exist in my organization. I want to soak up as much AI intel as I can and this seems like a pretty good spot to do that.
Following Brian has certainly helped orient my thoughts on how to help drive this innovation for my organization.
Happy to be here!
Brian – curious to know some broader thoughts on how bitcoin fits into your view of the future. I’ve read Jeff Booth’s book The Price of Tomorrow. In it, he describes a future where AI helps provide a productivity boon that will drive down costs. This is at odds with our current financial system, which is based on a targeted 2% inflation rate, to try and encourage people to expand their productive capacity.
Towards the end of his book, he posits that a deflationary currency like bitcoin is more suitable for the world ahead. Do you agree?
