          @Jason_G et al you might be interested in this book, Plant Intelligence and the Imaginal Realm: Beyond the Doors of Perception into the Dreaming of Earth by Stephen Harrod Buhner, specifically his chapter on The Function of Psychotropics in the Ecosystem.
