It did not occur to me to use this prompt on my own reading! This prompt should help me with Dostoevsky.

I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I am on the verge of tears just thinking of what to say about this final episode of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. So many characters I loved died, but everyone knew it was gonna happen, it was the only way. To destroy Father, they had to kill him, and they had to make sure he couldn’t come back. I really felt for Wrath, but at least he did something right in the end. Olivier had some good moments here, especially when she was riding that tank, being a real bawse. I’m not even sure if this is relevant, but it should be noted that the girl who voices young Hohenheim has a very annoying voice. It’s all squeaky and the same kind of tone as Nena Trinity from Gundam 00. I can tell you why I think Ed and Al don’t feel that bad about their dad dying, but I can’t say it without sounding insensitive and offensive. I guess I just understand why they don’t feel as close to him. The last episodes and episodes in the manga (after episode 27 in the original anime) aren’t as fun to watch, at least in my opinion. This is because these later episodes aren’t new, but an adaptation of what I’d already read in the manga.
Oh, and if you’re upset about the Homunculus suddenly losing a lot of his godly powers and suddenly being beatable, I can understand your annoyance. It felt like a cop-out, even if the way in which they beat him was very cool. I have to say, I don’t care that Hohenheim and Trisha were the gate’s souls. I actually love the idea, because it gives them the chance to explain the concepts of equivalent exchange and the toll it takes on those who attempt human transmutation in an easier way. It’s not important in a character way, because the pain of knowing you’ve done something wrong is much worse than the toll of taking souls. (if that’s the case with anyone who’s tried) I think it was in the manga, but not in the anime that Izumi mentioned something
about that. But if it was in the anime, I forgot.
I could have done without the romance in this episode, though. It feels forced, and I hate how many times Al had to say “big brother” and “Ed” in this episode. I’m just glad Ling is a cool guy, because I felt sorry for him when he was just sitting there listening to them talk about their previous adventures and practically begging to be a part of them. To anyone who saw him as annoying, shame on you. As far as characters go, I think Ling is one of my favorite characters. He was pretty unique and I liked him a lot.
I like that the series is happy. It doesn’t make much sense, but I like it a lot. I just love the music playing during the end credits, it gives a sad ending a bittersweet ending.
I’d really like to see a real sequel to this series. One that includes the end of the manga, and continues after that. I’m very impressed with how much I loved this show. I love the pacing, the story, the comedy, the characters, the villains, the world, the magic, the alchemy, the music, and pretty much everything about it. It was really good.
Now to watch that horrible 2003 anime. I know I’m going to be cringing my way through it.
Also, I’ll try to write more stories and drabbles. Hopefully that’ll be easier than writing one big fanfiction. -
