Hello everyone!

I am very happy to be here. I first learned about Brian through Scott Adams a few years ago, and I have been following Brian on X since then.

I have just started experimenting with local AI. I am doing diary voice recordings on my phone and transcribing locally on my laptop using whisper.cpp. So far I have been using GPT4All with Mistral Instruct. I will start from scratch again using Brian’s article and also get an offline recorder.

I am 57, live in Poland, but I am originally from Norway. I was in IT for 25 years, and the last 3 years I have been working as a teacher in an international school. I did my masters in information science in the US in the early 90s and I also lived one year in Thailand.

Besides IT and retro computing/gaming I have had a number of interests during my life, including competitive weightlifting/powerlifting/bodybuilding, yoga and study/practice of various eastern and western traditions, nutrition, overtone singing, djembe drumming, pranayama, etc.
