“Voice is a huge part of the future of User Interfaces”—Eddie Cue, Apple

Apple Sees Voice First As The Future User Interface

During the ReCode (http://recode.net/) Code Media at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel event in Dana Point, California Eddy Cue, SVP for internet software and services at Apple spoke to Perter Monday, February 13, at 7:35 pm PT. Cue is one of the most important people in media and he’s the man in charge of Apple’s moves in music, movies and TV. Now, he’s the one overseeing the company’s first steps as a content creator.

Although Apple never pre announces plans or products, Eddie Cue did have this to say:

“Voice is a huge part of the future of User Interfaces”—Eddie Cue, Apple

The entire video of the interview by Peter Kafka is presented below, fast forwarded to the segment where Eddie speaks to Voice, Siri, Amazon and Apple.

Apple will be releasing a number of updates to Siri with technology from the acquisition of Voice IQ along with a prediction I am making for a Voice First device similar to Amazon’s Echo. Apple’s best practice is to stay mum on the subject or do a classic head-fake.  We will know by the WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference) in the summer of 2017.
